The new Ford Explorer comes with Ford's proprietary suite of features, known as Ford Co-Pilot360, as standard offerings. These include plenty of  driver assistance features like a lane-keeping system, a blind spot monitoring sensor that warns in the event of cross traffic to the rear, automatic emergency braking and automatic high beams.

Moving up through the trim levels adds optional safety features like an adaptive cruise control that takes speed limits into account when adjusting acceleration and deceleration, collision steering that assists in avoiding obstacles, lane centering to keep the vehicle safely inside its lane and automatic braking in intersections when a vehicle is approaching from either side.

Drivers can also opt for a 360-degree camera that constantly monitors all traffic for potential collision, an active park assist that will help the driver to maneuver into tight parking locations and a post crash alert system that automatically turns on hazard lights and sounds the horn.
